“Why a Film Festival, anyway?”: CINDY WEIGAND, GTX Film Board President, and members of the Board who are industry professionals, will show us what a film festival is all about including the crucial role they play in the marketing of films and in the filmmaker’s process. A successful festival can have a positive economic impact on local businesses and a positive community impact as a source of pride and way to showcase the host city. The presentation will include the screening of a few short films and clips from previous festivals.

Welcome to Georgetown !
The Georgetown Film Festival is an annual event held in Georgetown, Texas.
Known as the Red Poppy Capital of Texas, Georgetown is also famous for it's
Most Beautiful Town Square.
GTX FILM exhibits feature length narrative films and documentaries as well as a variety of shorts. We have special categories for mobile, student, and youth shorts and of course,
Texas made films.
Unfortunately, we were no able to sit side by side this year to enjoy our films in a theater, so GTX Film hosted our first free virtual festival on July 23-25, 2020.
THANK YOU to all who participated in the 2021 GTX Film Festival!
OUR MISSION: GTX Film works to fuel visual storytelling by showcasing and cultivating the abilities of talented artists.
Established in 2018 by Cindy Weigand, the GTX Film board primarily focused on finding locations and funding for their inaugural festival.
In April of 2019, the first GTX Film Festival and Conference was held in Georgetown Texas. It featured films by Texas film makers and a couple of entries from out of state. The 2020 Festival was virtual and we were honored to have many entries from around the world.
2021 was both live and virtual - September 16-18
2022 will be held on October 1, 2022 in Georgetown TX.
Stay tuned for more special event information.
